FALL 2025 | Digital Design II
I set out to design and prototype a single-page scroll website showcasing personal influences as a designer from music, artists, and video games. The result is a modern, high-contrast, interactive website showcasing information about 8 different media that have influenced my growth as a designer. The Media Influence site is a striking, interactive balance of information and illustration. Incorporating a wide variety of media and portraying it as a cohesive entity.

Greyed-out images were potential options that did not make the final cut.
Visual Obsessions
In my moodboard, I organized my design style, typographic choices, and hierarchy, along with potential media to include in the project. While many focused on creating a color scheme surrounding their media choices, I focused on creating a cohesive identity for the site while still showcasing various media types.
GETTING
IT RIGHT
To determine how I would approach bringing the modern Japanese theme into the project, I created style sheets to reference.
These finalized steps for typographic and color hierarchy, photo editing processes, and symbols I would use in the final design.
Each of these style sheets were created using Figma and found images.
SYMBOLISM
& MOTIFS
I included aspects of the Japanese language in my design as a call-back to my love for Japanese culture & the language. I have been studying Japanese for about 3 years now, and learning more about the language, culture, and grammar structure continues to fascinate me.
Since this media project is meant to showcase our influences, I had to include the language I’ve dedicated years to learning. In the design, I use Katakana, Hiragana, and Kanji to translate certain aspects of the design while still allowing English audiences to be able to navigate the site.
SHOWCASE
GALLERY
Two artists, Emilyena and 82Pigeon, were included along with references to their work in a draggable 3-image gallery.
The music section featured a few of my favorite songs at the time, and some information about the bands and their influence on me.
The game section represents two of my all-time favorite games. They also include hover animations that bring out the color in the images.
